We are excited to announce that our PA Lounge is back for 2024!

The PA Lounge is a dedicated space for anyone registered for CHS Birmingham as a PA, EA, VA, or Office Manager who has event organising as a task on their to-do list. This is a place for you to come and meet like-minded industry professionals, network and grab a tea or coffee. We also understand that organising events is not the only focus of your role, so we’ve collaborated with industry leaders to curate an exciting content schedule tailored to your needs.

Lyndsey will be leading this seminar specifically for PAs and EAs who are responsible for booking hotels and venues for company off-sites. Staying on top of the latest hotel and venue openings, as well as those closing for refurbishments, can make it challenging to keep your little black book current. New hotels often attract top talent, which means your usual contacts might change roles or move on. Plus, there’s the added complexity of sourcing team-building or offsite activities. Lyndsey will provide you with a concise update on the latest developments in the UK and internationally.

Lyndsey will provide quick, firsthand reviews of the newly opened hotels she’s visited and will also share exciting plans for 2025 openings. London is always evolving, and this seminar will help you stay on top of the latest developments and changes across the city.

Back to Basics

Back by popular demand! Last year’s seminar was a tremendous success, particularly for those new to booking conferences and events. With all the industry acronyms and jargon, it’s easy to get lost in what a quote really means. If you’re a PA or EA starting to book offsite conferences and events—or if you could use a refresher—this session is perfect for you. Lyndsey will demystify terms like MICE, RACK, DDR, 8hr, and 24hr, and explore example packages, helping you decide whether to opt for room hire and lunch or a DDR or 8hr package. As well as tackling questions like: What about minimum spends? When does that include room hire? And how do you navigate quotes that don’t always include VAT and service charges, which can easily push you over budget? Lyndsey will guide you on what to clarify internally before approaching hotels with your set budget. There will be plenty of time for your questions and any challenges you’re facing. Don’t worry—every question has been asked before, and Lyndsey has the answers!
