Connected to everywhere, but unlike anywhere else in the world, the West Midlands is the beating heart of the UK.

Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton and Solihull are all fantastic locations for business events, offering varied, spectacular and world-class venues as well as exceptional delegate experiences.

Here’s a quick introduction to each:

Birmingham

Europe’s youngest city, Birmingham is bustling, dynamic and full of personality. Once known as the  “workshop of the world”, this is a place that sparks big ideas.

The city centre is just 10 minutes from Birmingham Airport, walkable and filled with first-rate events venues and facilities, including the ICC, one of Europe’s premier conference and meetings venues.

For delegates, there’s no shortage of things to do. Birmingham is a foodie haven, boasting three Michelin-starred restaurants, an energetic street food scene around Digbeth, and the famous Balti triangle. Plus, there are plenty of museums and attractions to explore all within walking distance, from the National Trust’s Back to Backs to the intriguing Coffin Works.

Coventry

Home to fascinating stories found in the pages of Britain’s history books, medieval meets modern in the UK City of Culture 2021.

Known as the city of three spires, and with its world-famous cathedral at its heart, the city is bursting with historic gems including Tudor buildings on Spon Street and the newly reopened St Mary’s Guildhall. Once a place where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned, this is now a striking museum and events space.

Art and music run through the veins of Coventry, from the birth of 2-Tone sound, immortalised at Coventry Music Museum , to world-class visual arts at Herbert Art Gallery and Museum.

Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton is a city of world-class culture and electric live events. Highlights include one of the greatest Pop Art collections outside of London, the stunning Victorian auditorium at the Wolverhampton Grand, and beautifully landscaped gardens at Wightwick Manor. It’s also home to Premier League side, Wolverhampton Wanderers.

University of Wolverhampton at The Halls is an iconic venue in the city, having hosted numerous rock and pop legends from Queen to Nirvana. Reopened in 2023 after a major redevelopment, the venue is also a fantastic space for business events.

Solihull

Surrounded by picturesque English countryside, Solihull is where you’ll find an eclectic mix of the old and the new, the town and the country.

Dotted with historic architecture, including timber-framed Tudor houses and shops, Solihull is also home to the NEC, the largest exhibition venue in the UK and the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, the second largest hotel in the country.

Nearby is Resorts World, a destination filled with shops and restaurants, and bp pulse LIVE, where world-class artists take centre stage. And if that wasn’t enough, you can really bring out your inner thrill-seeker at The Bear Grylls Adventure.
