Orla began her career as a live broadcast captioner for the BBC, working in the management team for 15 years, playing a key role developing protocols and guidelines for broadcast captioning in the UK. In 2013 MyClearText was born, a captioning company with a vision to deliver high-quality human captions with technical expertise, full support for clients, captioners and the audience.
Orla developed AccessLOOP over Covid to allow access to platforms that hadn’t considered audiences who need access by design. To drive industry change, she has created workshops for production companies and event agencies to empower access delivery for their clients and a commitment to quote for accessibility every time to every client.
