As the Coronation of King Charles approaches, the Shangri-La The Shard, London are starting celebrations early by appreciating the vibrant history and culture which surrounds The Shard.

Throughout 2023, guests can discover the fascinating history and culture that surrounds the Shard with a local experience in the neighbourhoods of Bermondsey and the City of London. Venturing on, visitors will be treated to a private gin tasting session at Jensen’s Gin Distillery in Bermondsey’s famous beer mile, tasting a variety of different gins, touring the distillery and uncovering the historic methods and recipes that are still used today at the distillery.

Following the tasting session, historians can enjoy a scenic walk across the world-famous Tower Bridge to the historic Tower of London, with a fascinating past that has shaped London into the city it is today. Guests can explore the magnificent Crown Jewels, listen to stories from a Yeoman Warder dressed in traditional ceremonial attire, and marvel at the architecture of the White Tower, once London’s tallest building when it was constructed in the year 1078. Alternatively, visit one of London’s other Historic Royal Palaces with day entry tickets.
