Derby Museums

Derby Museums boasts a riverside World Heritage Site venue for your event – The Museum of Making.

Derby Museums is an independent charitable trust operating three museums: the Museum and Art Gallery, Museum of Making and Pickford’s House. It cares for the collections of cultural heritage on behalf of Derby City Council for the people of Derby.

Whether you are planning a national conference, product launch, awards ceremony, away day with a difference or a small boardroom meeting, Derby Museums has an inspirational space for you.

On the site of what is widely regarded as the world’s first factory, Derby’s iconic Silk Mill offers a stunning industrial backdrop on the banks of the River Derwent. With a treasure trove of objects displayed, the museum invites your guests to explore, view and create their own journey through 300 year of making.

The original brickwork and windows in this dedicated events space create a unique, industrial feel. Items from the museum’s collections are displayed within the space to add to the character and history, while still providing all of the modern facilities needed to hold a seamless event.
