Storthes Hall Park is soon to be featured in a new film which is due to be released on the 28th March 2017.

Mad To Be Normal tells the story of world-renowned Scottish psychiatrist RD Laing and his unique community at Kingsley Hall, East London, during the 1960’s. It features David Tennant, Elizabeth Moss and Michael Gambon in the lead roles and will receive its world premiere at the 2017 Glasgow Film Festival this month.

The biopic was filmed partly in London and partly in Yorkshire making the most of the period setting provided by the venue and its extensive countryside setting last year, with the team spending several days filming at the picturesque site.

Experience Manager Miriam Pedersen said;

The film was a fantastic opportunity to promote the site to a wider audience”. With the help of Creative England, Yorkshire is being featured more often in a range of popular television programmes including Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax and the acclaimed Victoria.  Storthes Hall is becoming a popular choice for filming projects thanks to its stunning, yet secluded setting, convenient location, excellent transport links and first rate facilities, and has a number of upcoming filming projects in the pipeline that cannot be revealed just yet, but, as they say, “Watch this space!”

The adaptable newly refurbished Venue can provide the perfect backdrop for any meeting or event. Storthes Hall Park offers a range of excellent facilities to suit any event including conference rooms, cinema room and value for money accommodation. The in-house catering team can provide high quality menus to compliment the outstanding venue features.
