It has been an exciting time for Visions and the wider group of companies within The Event Technology Group, having recently moved into a new modern head office in Bracknell, where they have doubled the floorspace bringing the technical and scenic solutions into the same building.
The business has further enhanced its production facilities with an investment in UV LED Mimaki technology, enabling them to bring all soft signage and textile printing in-house. The group has commissioned a Mimaki UJV55-320 UV LED dedicated 3.2m roll-to-roll printer and a Mimaki UCJV300-160 UV LED 1.6m integrated printer and cutter. The new equipment will run alongside an existing Mimaki flatbed printer enabling them to supply a diverse range of print products for events and experiential activations.
“At events, there may be a lot of last-minute demands, so we can give our customers the certainty that we can meet their needs while completing tasks in incredibly condensed timeframes” says Chris Norman, CEO – of The Event Technology Group.
The Mimaki UJV55-320 produces high-quality, wide-format UV LED prints in bulk. The 3.2 m wide dedicated roll-to-roll printer can be used for a variety of things, such as banners, window graphics, retail displays, exhibits, and events. Twin-roll simultaneous printing guarantees faster throughput times and higher output. It has Mimaki’s Advance Pass System core technology, which uses an algorithm pattern to decrease banding for greater output even at faster speeds. It delivers a resolution of up to 1200 dpi.
“Compared to other printing methods, UV printing uses significantly less energy throughout the printing process, in part because LED-UV inks rapidly dry. This reduces manufacturing costs and turnaround times while also improving the printer’s environmental effect which are particularly welcome features.” says Sarah Hamilton, Operations Director.
The Mimaki UCJV300-160 can print on a wide variety of materials, including banners, polyester fabrics, self-adhesive PVC, transparent PET film, paper, and backlit media. It uses Mimaki Core Technologies to produce prints with excellent image quality and consistency, has a high scratch resistance, low operating costs, and supports up to eight colours, including White and Clear inks.
